Home Video Editing

In addition to preserving VHS videos onto DVD, our studio can edit your home videos to include titles, subtitles, sound effects, and even music, such as:

• Adding a subtitle track of a speech, wedding vows, etc., to accompany a home video. For font and text style options, click here.
  
  
• Adding titles on top of pictures or video to help tell a story. For example, "Before her recital, Cecilia practiced clarinet for 20 minutes..." "After the concert, Daddy gave Cecilia flowers..."
  
  
• Adding dates and locations. For example "The Miller Family Vacation, Virginia Beach, July 5-14, 2003"
  
  
• Adding transition effects, such as fade in/fade out, heart-shaped wipes, and other special effects. To view a movie file demonstrating our transition effects, click here.
  
  
• Adding sound effects, such as applause, wind, cartoon boings, car engines revving, etc. For available sound effects, click here.

• Adding a menu from which viewers can choose to watch certain scenes and chapters of your film.

Per-Hour Editing

We can also edit together multiple home videos or multiple perspectives shot of a single event, as well as re-order a home video to organize by theme, chronology, etc.

Our Producer Package includes one full hour spent editing your video to your specifications. Other packages include the addition of subtitles. Any editing not included in your package will be billed at $50.00 per hour (with a minimum $10.00 charge).

A good-faith estimate will be provided prior to beginning the editing work. The amount of time required for editing varies from project to project. Most inclusion of subtitles or sound effects can be completed in under an hour. Longer projects, which include piecing together specific parts of multiple videos or multiple camera angels, can take longer to complete. For your convenience, we recommend contacting us via phone for projects that require detailed editing so that we can discuss your specific needs in person and give you an accurate estimate before you submit your order.
